The Bristol and Gloucestershire Archaeological Society is a charity and learned society focused on the history and old things of Bristol and Gloucestershire. It was founded on 21 April 1876 and has charity number 202014. Its aim is to educate the public about the area's history, heritage and archaeology.

In its early years the society helped rescue several important sites and buildings in the region. It is a prolific publisher: its annual journal, Transactions, has been published since 1876, and all volumes up to 2014 are digitised and freely available on its website. The society also published Bristol and Gloucestershire records through its Record Section from 1952 to 1985, now accessible online. Since 1988 it has issued annually in its Gloucestershire Record Series a volume of historical records relating to Gloucestershire (not Bristol-only to avoid overlap with the Bristol Record Society, founded in 1929). It also releases occasional monographs and themed volumes. The society's library is held at the University of Gloucestershire in Cheltenham.
