United States women's national under-17 soccer team

The United States women’s national under-17 soccer team is the youth team for players under 17. It is run by U.S. Soccer and helps develop players for the senior national team. They compete in major youth events like the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup and the CONCACAF Women’s U-17 Championship.

A quick History
- The program started in 2002 to develop players for the U-19 team; the first matches were in November 2002, including a 3–0 win over Scotland.
- In 2008, the U-17 team won the CONCACAF title and reached the World Cup final in New Zealand, losing to North Korea in overtime. Taylor Vancil was named the best goalkeeper of the tournament.
- In 2010, the team was favored to win the CONCACAF Championship but lost to Canada in the semifinals and missed the 2010 World Cup for the first time.
- Coaching changes included Albertin Montoya taking charge in 2011 to emphasize possession, and B. J. Snow taking over in 2013 for the 2014 cycle.
- The team has continued to perform well in its region and remains a key step in developing players for the senior national team. In 2024, the team won bronze at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
