Briarcliff, Texas
Briarcliff is a small village in Travis County, Texas, about 30 miles west of Austin and near Lake Travis. It covers about 1.5 square miles, mostly land with a small amount of water, and has lake access via a marina at mile marker 26.
As of the 2020 census, Briarcliff has 2,062 residents. The ZIP code is 78669 and the area code is 512.
For safety and law enforcement, Briarcliff uses its own police presence along with deputies from the Travis County Sheriff’s Office and park rangers. Fire protection is provided by the Pedernales Fire Department.
Education in Briarcliff is part of the Lake Travis Independent School District. Students attend West Cypress Hills Elementary, Lake Travis Middle School, and Lake Travis High School in nearby areas; Bee Cave Elementary previously served the community.
The Lake Travis Community Library in Lakeway serves Briarcliff. The library district was created in 2004; land for the library was donated in 2011, and the library has been in its current location since 2013.
