Micranthus is a small genus of flowering plants in the iris family (Iridaceae). All species are native to and restricted to the Cape Province of South Africa. The name comes from Greek words meaning “small flower.” The type species is Micranthus alopecuroides. Older names used for this group include Beilia and Paulomagnusia.
