Brezje pri Raki
Brezje pri Raki is a small settlement west of Raka in eastern Slovenia, in the Municipality of Krško. It is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola and now lies in the Lower Sava Statistical Region. The area covers 1.93 square kilometers and sits about 200 meters above sea level. In 2002, 51 people lived there.
The settlement has appeared in historical records under several names: Fresau (1420), Pirikch (1433), and Fresach (1436). The name was changed to Brezje pri Raki in 1953.
Archaeology: A prehistoric burial ground with five graves was found in Brezje pri Raki. In 1958, three graves were excavated, but the site was damaged and many finds were not recovered by the Brežice museum.
