Brave 6: Kazakhstan
Brave 6: Kazakhstan was a Brave Combat Federation mixed martial arts event held on April 28, 2017, at the Almaty Arena in Almaty, Kazakhstan. It was Brave’s sixth event, the fourth outside Bahrain, and the first in Central Asia, as well as the first co-promotion with the local group Qazaq FC.
The card featured Brave’s first-ever women’s MMA fight, with Mariya Agapova facing Yulia Litvinceva in the flyweight division. Several bouts changed before the event: a main-card fight between Júlio César “Morceguinho” and Bakhtiyar Arzumanov was canceled after Morceguinho was diagnosed with dengue fever and Arzumanov’s visa issues were also resolved in a way that led to the bout being dropped. Ikram Aliskerov’s bout against Will Fleury was altered when Fleury withdrew due to injury and was replaced by Rufat Asadov. Mohammad Fakhreddine, after weighing in overweight, ended up fighting Lukasz Witos in a catchweight bout, instead of his planned pairing with Leonardo Mafra.
Brave 6 was broadcast worldwide online via Brave’s website and YouTube, and aired on Bahrain TV, OSN Sports (Middle East), Kazakh TV, Claro Sports (Hispanic America), Combate (Brazil), and ABS-CBN Sports and Action (Asia).
