Bradley Belt
Bradley D. Belt is an American businessman and public official who currently serves as the CEO of Palisades Capital and a board member there, and as vice chairman of Orchard Global Asset Management. He was previously a managing director at the Milken Institute. In 2024, Belt was elected mayor of Kiawah Island, South Carolina. Earlier, he led the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) as executive director, a post appointed by President George W. Bush; he resigned in March 2006.
Belt has been recognized as an Eisenhower Fellow and has earned industry acknowledgments such as SmartMoney’s Power 30 in finance and Workforce magazine’s 10 Most Forward-Thinking Leaders in Workforce Management. He holds a J.D. from Georgetown University and a B.S. from the University of Nebraska.
In government and policy circles, Belt has held senior roles at the Securities and Exchange Commission and as counsel to the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs. In the private sector, he co-founded Palisades Capital and has led financial services and technology firms, and he served as a senior vice president at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). As PBGC director, he oversaw an important pension insurance program and helped advance reforms aimed at improving retirement security and worker participation in retirement plans.
Belt has also served on various boards and is a senior fellow at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business.
