Bra is a song by the British funk band Cymande from their self-titled debut album, Cymande. Written by Patrick Patterson and Steve Scipio, it was recorded at De Lane Lea Studios in London and produced by John Schroeder. The track was released as a 7-inch single, first in 1972 and then in 1973 in the United States on Janus Records, as the second single from the album. The single version runs about 3 minutes 48 seconds; the album version is about 5 minutes. In the United States, Bra reached number 51 on the Soul Singles chart. The song has appeared in several films, including Spike Lee's Crooklyn (1994) and its soundtrack, John Jacobsen's Around the Fire (1998), Spike Lee's 25th Hour (2002), Martin Gero's Young People Fucking (2007), and The Worst Person in the World. It has also been widely sampled by hip hop artists, including Vivian Green, who used a sample of Bra in Work on her 2015 album Vivid.
