Korean language education in India
Korean language education in India is offered in colleges, universities, schools, and other institutions. In 2022, 2,342 Indian students studied Korean. More than 20 schools ran regular Korean classes, and 25 schools offered Korean hobby classes.
After India's National Education Policy made Korean an elective second language, more schools started Korean classes. By April 2023, about 2,500 students were learning Korean, with 21 regular classes and 17 hobby classes.
In most schools, Korean classes are for students in grades 6–8. Students who finish grade 8 often cannot continue Korean because of local foreign language education policies.
Among Indians aged 17–25, Korean ranked fifth on Duolingo's Most Popular Languages chart.
