Ada East District

Ada East District is one of 29 districts in Ghana’s Greater Accra Region. Its capital is Ada Foah. The district covers about 289.8 square kilometers and has a population of 76,411 people as of 2021. It lies in the eastern part of Greater Accra, bordered by Ada West District to the west, North Tongu District (in the Volta Region) to the north and east, and the Gulf of Guinea to the south.

The district was created on 28 June 2012 when the western part of the former Dangme East District was split off to form Ada West District; the remaining part was renamed Ada East District. The District Executive is Sarah Dugbakie Pobee.

Population has grown from 71,671 people in 2010 (34,012 males and 37,659 females) to 88,321 in 2019, and then to 76,411 in 2021. The district operates in the GMT time zone (UTC+0).
