Bjørn Dunkerbeck, born on July 16, 1969, is a legendary windsurfer. He has won the PWA Overall World Championship a record 42 times. He has a Dutch father and Danish mother and grew up in the Canary Islands, Spain, competing under the Spanish flag ESP-11. He dominated windsurf racing in the late 1980s and 1990s and was also a champion in wavesailing. His sister Britt is also a top windsurfer, and both have held Nautical Mile speed records set by the World Sailing Speed Record Council. In 2021 at the Lüderitz Speed Challenge in Namibia, he reached 55.97 knots.
