The Prodigal Son (Il figliol prodigo) is a painting by Giorgio de Chirico, created in 1922. Made with tempera on canvas, it shows the artist moving from his Metaphysical style toward neoclassicism in the 1920s. The scene presents a stone-like father with his hand on the shoulder of a mannequin representing the son, offering a symbolic take on the biblical story.
