Best-Lock Group Ltd is a private toy company from Colne, England, founded in 1997 by Torsten Geller. They make Best-Lock Construction Toys, plastic bricks that are compatible with Lego.

The company operates from six locations. Key people are Torsten Geller (CEO), Ben Page (UK Managing Director), Sven Hasselberg (Germany Managing Director), and Jan Geller (Head of Global Design and MD Germany).

In 2006, Best-Lock merged with Cobi, a Polish building brick maker, creating co-branded sets.

Best-Lock has a history of legal clashes with Lego. In 1998 they challenged Lego’s exclusivity claims and won, allowing sales in Germany. They beat Lego’s patent challenge in 2004. In 2009, Lego’s attempt to trademark the shape of its bricks was denied. In 2012, Best-Lock sued to revoke Lego’s mini-figure trademark, but the European Court of Justice upheld Lego’s trademark.

Product lines include Standard Blocks, Junior Blocks for ages 2–5, and Baby Blocks for ages 0–2. Themes for standard blocks cover town (police, fire, construction), military, pirates, farming, and Kimmy (for girls). They also offer licensed sets like The Terminator and Stargate SG-1.

Best-Lock bricks are compatible with Lego bricks. For more information, visit best-lock.com.
