BXI is a collaborative EP by the Japanese band Boris and Ian Astbury, the lead singer of The Cult. It was released in September 2010 and recorded that year at Sound Square, Bazooka, and Peace Music studios. The 20-minute, 10-second alternative rock record was released by Southern Lord Records on CD, black, blue, and pink vinyl, and digital formats. Producers are Boris and Ian Astbury. In Boris’s discography, BXI follows Variations (2010) and precedes Klatter (2011); in Astbury’s, it sits after Spirit/Light/Speed (2000). Boris and Astbury had performed live together, including at the Sydney Opera House on May 30, 2010 and the Brooklyn Masonic Temple on September 7, 2010, per the liner notes.
