Azir Aliu (born 15 April 1976 in Gostivar, then Yugoslavia) is a Macedonian professor and politician who specializes in cryptography, cybersecurity, blockchain and machine learning. Since 9 June 2025, he has been the Minister of Health of North Macedonia, as part of the VLEN government coalition. He previously served as Minister of Public Administration from 28 February 2023 to 9 February 2024.

Education and career: Aliu earned his electrical engineering degrees (bachelor and master) and a PhD in Information Sciences from Ss. Cyril and Methodius University of Skopje. He began his career teaching at a high school in Gostivar (2003–2004) and then moved to higher education at the University of Southeast Europe in Tetovo, advancing from junior assistant to full professor by 2022. He held leadership roles such as Vice Dean for Science (2012–2014) and Vice President of the University’s Board of Trustees (2018–2020). He was a member of North Macedonia’s National Committee for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (2013–2017) and advised the prime minister on higher education.
