The Avon River is an inland river in Victoria, Australia. It is part of the Wimmera catchment in the Grampians and Wimmera regions. The river has traditional names: Wityellibar in the western Kulin language and Kurakibiyal in the Djadjawurrung language.

Where it begins and how it flows
- The river starts on the northern slopes of the Great Dividing Range near Beazleys Bridge, west of St Arnaud.
- It flows mostly west-northwest in a winding course for about 64 kilometers.
- Faulkner Creek joins the Avon River from the left along its journey.

Where it ends
- The Avon River meets the Richardson River at Banyena, northwest of Marnoo.
- The river drops about 62 meters from source to mouth, from around 195 meters above sea level to about 133 meters.

- The Avon is part of the Wimmera catchment, which drains into the Murray-Darling basin through a series of ephemeral lakes rather than a single large river.
