Aurora is a 2014 Chilean drama film written and directed by Rodrigo Sepúlveda. The story is set in Ventanas, a town in Chile’s Valparaíso Region. Sofia, a local teacher who wants to adopt a child, reads about a dead baby found in the town dump. She becomes obsessed with the baby’s fate and calls her Aurora. Since the baby has no legal name or burial rights, Sofia starts a legal case to give her a name and burial. This legal fight becomes a personal journey that changes Sofia's life in unexpected and painful ways. The film is based on the life of Bernarda Gallardo. The cast includes Amparo Noguera as Sofia, with Luis Gnecco, Jaime Vadell, Francisco Pérez-Bannen, Mariana Loyola, Patricia Rivadeneira, Francisca Gavilán, and María José Siebald in supporting roles. The movie is in Spanish and runs about 83 minutes.
