Atlantis: The Lost World
Atlantis: The Lost World is a campaign-setting supplement for the Atlantis role-playing game. It first appeared in 1988 and was published in 1989 by Bard Games as a 280-page book. The supplement combines material from The Lexicon and The Bestiary with new content to help game masters run adventures in Atlantis. It was written by Stephan Michael Sechi, Vernie Taylor, Ed Mortimer, and J. Andrew Keith, with cover art by P. D. Breeding-Black.
The release helped Bard Games expand its line, and Sechi later used Atlantis material to create Atlantis: The Lost Worlds (1988) and a subsequent Talislanta edition in 1989. However, sales troubles followed: a large order from Waldenbooks led to many returns about a year later, forcing Bard Games to refund around $20,000 and contributing to the company’s decline.
