Atif Tauqeer, born on 23 July 1979 in Jhelum, Pakistan, is a Pakistani journalist, poet, writer and vlogger who lives in Germany and works as a media researcher. He earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in mass communication from the University of Karachi, and in 2012 he completed a second master’s degree in international media studies at the University of Bonn in Germany.

Tauqeer is a noted Urdu poet who has been active in Urdu literature since the early 1990s. He first gained wide attention with his 1999 poem Shukria, written in response to General Pervez Musharraf’s martial law, in which he criticized the military’s role in politics. He has also written other poems such as Aytaraf (Confession), Talibani Darinday (Taliban Beasts), and Mutaliba (Demand).
