Women's 800 metres at the 2024 Summer Olympics – Paris
The event was held at the Stade de France in Paris from August 2 to August 5, 2024. A total of 50 athletes from 32 nations competed, with heats on August 2, a repechage round on August 3, semi-finals on August 4, and the final on August 5.
Keely Hodgkinson of Great Britain won the gold medal with a time of 1:56.72. Tsige Duguma of Ethiopia finished second for the silver, while Mary Moraa of Kenya took bronze. Hodgkinson’s victory gave Britain its third Olympic gold in this event, and Duguma’s silver marked Ethiopia’s first in women’s 800 metres at the Olympics.
The defending champion and 2022 World Champion, Athing Mu of the United States, did not qualify after tripping at the U.S. Trials.
