Ash Lake Township is a small rural area in Lincoln County, in southwestern Minnesota. It is named after Ash Lake. The township covers about 36.7 square miles (95 square kilometers), with most of it land and about 0.6 square miles (1.6 square kilometers) of water. The elevation is around 1,722 feet (525 meters).

As of the 2020 census, 133 people live in Ash Lake Township. In 2000, there were 177 people, 72 households, and 52 families. The population density was about 4.9 people per square mile. The community was 100% White at that time. Of the 72 households, 25% had children under 18, 65% were married couples, and 26% were non-families. About 25% of households were individuals, and 9.7% had someone living alone who was 65 or older. The average household size was 2.46 and the average family size was 2.94.

The median age in 2000 was 46 years. For every 100 females, there were about 116 males. The median household income was $31,750, and the median family income was $32,000. Males earned a median income of $23,750 compared to $12,500 for females. The per capita income was $12,639. About 29% of families and 31% of the population were below the poverty line, including 36% of those under 18 and 20% of those 65 or older.
