Softball Academic All-America Team Member of the Year

The Softball Academic All-America Team Member of the Year is the annual award given to the single most outstanding college softball player named to the Academic All-America Teams in that year. It is presented by College Sports Communicators (CSC), formerly CoSIDA, and includes players from the United States and Canada. The award began in 1988.

The most recent winners are NiJaree Canady (Texas Tech University), Ally Distler (Colorado Mesa University), Jen Kuhn (Illinois Wesleyan University), and Annalise Jarvis (Georgia Gwinnett College).

How it works: Each year CSC selects one top performer from the Academic All-America selections as the Team Member of the Year.

History and divisions: From 1988–2011, there was one winner from two divisions—College Division (non-DI) and University Division (DI). The program honors both athletic and academic excellence. The University Division included NCAA Division I schools; the College Division included NCAA II/III and NAIA scholars. In 2012, CSC restructured: the University Division was renamed Division I, and Divisions II and III got their own All-America lists. The College Division later became NAIA-focused through 2017–18. All winners are American unless noted otherwise.
