Arrow Through the Heart

Arrow Through the Heart is a song by Andy Gibb from the album Mythology. It was recorded in July 1987 at Panther House in Miami Beach and runs 3 minutes and 43 seconds. It was released on 15 November 2010. The song was written by Barry Gibb, Maurice Gibb, and Andy Gibb, and produced by Barry and Maurice Gibb.

This track was Andy Gibb's last recording before his death in 1988, and it was first released in full on the Bee Gees' 2010 box set Mythology. It was one of four songs prepared for a comeback album after his battles with drugs. Andy and his brothers Barry and Maurice recorded demos of the four songs; another track, "Man on Fire," later appeared on Andy's 1991 self-titled album. Arrow Through the Heart was the final song Andy recorded, in late 1987. The lyrics describe a man's vain search for happiness and proved sadly prophetic given Andy's death the following year.

For years the full recording remained unreleased to the public, until a segment appeared on VH1's Behind the Music. The complete song circulated as bootlegs until the estates of Andy and Maurice, the surviving Gibb brothers, and Warner Music Group officially released it in 2010 on Mythology.
