Aron Kipchumba Koech, also known as Haron Koech, is a Kenyan hurdler born on 27 January 1990 in Uasin Gishu County, Kenya. He is 1.90 meters tall and weighs 76 kg. He competes in athletics, specializing in the 400 metres hurdles, and represents Kenya Police. He is coached by Vincent Mumo.

Koech has represented Kenya at major championships. In 2015, he finished third at the Athletics Kenya World Championship Trials in the 400m hurdles and earned a spot at the World Championships in Beijing. There he set a personal best of 49.38 seconds in the heats, finished 22nd overall, and advanced to the semi-finals, where he placed 19th with 49.54.

In 2016, he finished third at the Athletics Kenya Olympic Trials behind his brother and Boniface Mucheru Tumuti. At the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games, Koech reached the 400m hurdles final and finished seventh. His semi-final time of 48.49 seconds remains his personal best. Tumuti won silver with a national record, while Koech’s brother was disqualified in the heats.

Aron Koech’s late twin brother, Nicholas Bett, was also a 400 metres hurdler.

At the African Championships in Durban in 2016, Koech contributed to Kenya’s medaling performances in the 4x400 m relay and competed in the 400 m hurdles.
