Arizona Gunfighter
Arizona Gunfighter is a 1937 American western directed by Sam Newfield, starring Bob Steele, Jean Carmen, and Ted Adams. Colt Ferron, a cowhand, returns home after his father is murdered by Durkin’s henchman Farley and kills Durkin and Farley in a fair fight. He then falls in with outlaw Wolf Whitson (actually Pop Whittaker) and joins his gang for two years; when the gang disbands, Pop gives Colt a ranch and rides away. Colt meets Beth Lorimer and her uncle Dan, and learns Wolf may cause trouble again. With the sheriff and a posse, Colt and friends confront the gang. Grizzly gives Colt a note to visit Wolf in jail; Wolf admits he killed Durkin and Farley. Colt tells Governor Gray the truth, and the governor allows Colt and Wolf to pursue the bandits. The gang has kidnapped Beth, who is Wolf’s daughter. They locate the gang, and Colt knocks out Snake; Snake recovers and is shot by Grizzly. Back in the sheriff’s office, Colt, Wolf, and Grizzly confess they are the Arizona Gunfighter. The sheriff jokes that he still has a couple of charges as Colt and Beth embrace.
