Ardon Bess, born in 1941 in Kingstown, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, is a Canadian actor best known for his role as Maurice Ruddick in a Heritage Minutes short about the 1958 Springhill mining disaster, and for playing Nestor "The Jester" Best in the TV show King of Kensington. Bess left St. Vincent after finishing school to work as a bank teller and help with local theatre. He moved to Canada in 1964, first living in Oakville, Ontario with his father, and briefly studied architecture at Ryerson Polytechnical Institute in Toronto. He then attended the National Theatre School of Canada. Bess has appeared in films and TV shows including Trailer Park Boys, How She Move, Take the Lead, The Ladies Man, Kung Fu: The Legend Continues, Prom Night, King of Kensington, and Jewel. He earned a Gemini Award nomination for One Heart Broken Into Song, and in 2000 won a Golden Sheaf Award for best performance by a male for My Father’s Hands.
