April 2022 Mogadishu bombing

On April 22, 2022, a suicide bombing hit the Pescatore Seafood Restaurant on Mogadishu’s Lido Beach. The attacker, an Al-Shabaab bomber, had been refused entry before exploding inside the restaurant, where the Somali Police Commissioner and several lawmakers were gathering for Iftar to break Ramadan. Six people were killed and seven were injured. None of the lawmakers were harmed, but some security personnel among the dead were present. Most of the victims were civilians.
