Antonio de Rojas Manrique
Antonio de Rojas Manrique (died 27 June 1527) was a Spanish Catholic church leader who held several high-ranking positions. He began as Bishop of Mallorca (1496–1507), chosen by the king and confirmed by the pope. In 1507 he became Archbishop of Granada, a position he held until 1524. In 1524 he was named Bishop of Palencia and the first Patriarch of the West Indies, and in 1525 he was appointed Bishop of Burgos, a post he held until his death. He also served as President of the Council of Castile from 1519 to 1524. Earlier in his career, on 26 August 1501, he was one of three ambassadors to England to accompany Catherine of Aragon to her marriage with Arthur, Prince of Wales. He died in Burgos, Spain.
