Saint-Gilles-les-Forêts is a small rural commune in western-central France. It is in the Haute-Vienne department, part of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. The commune covers 18.28 square kilometers and has a population of 46 people (2023), giving a low population density of about 5.6 inhabitants per square kilometer. The land is hilly, with elevations between 420 and 730 meters above sea level. It lies in the Limoges arrondissement and the Eymoutiers canton, and is part of the Briance Combade intercommunality. The mayor for 2020–2026 is Serge Reineix. The postal code is 87130 and the INSEE code is 87147. The Occitan name for the town is Sent Geris.
