Annibale Pastore
Valentino Annibale Pastore (13 November 1868 – 27 February 1956) was an Italian philosopher and logician. He was born in Orbassano, near Turin, and studied literature at the University of Turin. His early work explored literary forms, but he later turned to philosophy. He wrote about science, logic, mathematics, and physics in 1903. From 1913 to 1939 he taught in Turin, leading a laboratory of experimental logic and focusing on how logic works in science. His 1914–15 seminars on the concept of homo faber influenced Antonio Gramsci's ideas about the role of intellectuals in capitalist society. Pastore died in Turin.
