Andrey Valerievich Zelenskiy (born 24 January 1963) is a Soviet‑Russian composer and pianist. He is considered one of Russia’s leading contemporary classical composers of the 21st century. Zelenskiy was born in Blagoveshchensk, Russia, and studied composition and piano at the Nizhny Novgorod State Conservatory with Arcady Nesterov, graduating in 1989. He also took part in composition seminars with Sergei Berinsky and Vasily Lobanov.

His music is performed in Moscow at many venues, as well as in Nizhny Novgorod, Yekaterinburg, Ivanovo, and abroad in Germany and Japan. Zelenskiy writes orchestral and instrumental music, music for theater and cinema, and music for children. His album Shoes out of the Rain was released in 2021. He is a member of the Union of Composers of Russia and the Union of Theater Workers, and he is married to composer Lyubov Terskaya.

Notable works include Invention-Pastoral for three guitars; Metamorphoses for chamber ensemble; the string quartet Against the Backdrop of a Single Landscape; Sonata al test for violin; Sonata in Preludes for violin, voice and piano; Little Joys for vocal, saxophone and piano; and Esmeralda — metamorphosis concert for guitar, string orchestra, percussion, two pianos and flute. His music is performed by leading Russian guitarists and at Moscow guitar festivals. Zelenskiy has taken part in many contemporary music festivals, such as Moscow Autumn, Another Space and Meetings in the Province, and has performed as a pianist at various festivals and in Dimitri Illarionov’s projects. He created a version of Sol-weg-Pulsation for guitar, button accordion, piano and a chamber ensemble.
