Andre Pallante
Andre Pallante is a right-handed pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals in Major League Baseball. Born September 18, 1998, in Mission Viejo, California, he grew up in Orange County and played high school baseball at San Clemente High School with teammates Kolby Allard and Michael McGreevy. Pallante then pitched for the University of California, Irvine, and spent summers with the Chatham Anglers of the Cape Cod Baseball League, earning a spot on the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team.
The Cardinals drafted Pallante in the fourth round of the 2019 MLB draft. He spent four seasons in the minors, with the 2020 season canceled due to the pandemic. In 2021 he played mainly for the Springfield Cardinals (Double-A) and also appeared for the Memphis Redbirds (Triple-A). He also played in the Arizona Fall League for the Glendale Desert Dogs, earning a Fall Stars Game selection.
Before the 2022 season, Pallante was invited to spring training as a non-roster player and earned a spot on the Opening Day roster. He made his MLB debut on April 10, 2022, against the Pittsburgh Pirates, starting in relief and later joining the rotation. In his rookie year, he appeared in 47 games (10 starts) with a 6–5 record, a 3.17 ERA, and 73 strikeouts over 108 innings.
In 2023, Pallante pitched mostly out of the bullpen, appearing in 62 games with a 4–1 record and a 4.76 ERA in 68 innings. He moved back to the starting rotation in 2024, appearing in 29 games with 20 starts and posting an 8–8 record with a 3.78 ERA. Ahead of the 2025 season, he won a salary arbitration case, earning $2.1 million. He began the year back in St. Louis’ rotation. Pallante also played for Italy in the 2023 World Baseball Classic.
Overall, through the 2025 season, Pallante has a 24–29 win–loss record with a 4.32 ERA and 321 strikeouts.
