William Lovel Davis (24 September 1844 – 20 October 1932) was an English-born Australian politician. He was born at Hallingley, Sussex, to farmers James and Elizabeth Davis, and was educated at Hailsham. In 1857 his family moved to Herstmonceux, where he helped on the farm. He moved to Sydney in 1868, working as an accountant for about ten years, then as a land agent. He entered local politics as an alderman of Petersham in 1883 and served as mayor from 1885 to 1886. He was a commissioner for New South Wales at the London International Exhibition in 1886. In 1887 he was elected to the New South Wales Legislative Assembly as a Free Trade member for Canterbury, but did not recontest in 1889. He married Julia Warren in 1902; they had no children. Davis died at Lewisham in 1932, aged 88.
