Ambrose Olutayo Somide
Ambrose Olutayo Somide is a Nigerian TV and radio presenter. He was born in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria, and studied Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University). He is the Managing Director of Radio Services at DAAR Communications Plc (DCP) and the founder of Faaji FM.
Somide began his career in 1982 at the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRN) in Abeokuta as a news accountant, later becoming a presenter. The FRN was shut down in 1984 by the Buhari administration. In 1985 he moved to the Ogun State Property and Investment Corporation (OPIC) in Abeokuta before continuing his career in broadcasting. He joined Raypower 100.5 FM in 1994, the year he also met Adisa Bashiru, who would become his partner on the Mini Jojo show. In 2006 he went to the United Kingdom to study talk show work at the BBC. In 2012 he started Faaji 106.5 FM, an arm of DAAR Communications. Somide lost his mother in 2013.
