American School of The Hague
The American School of The Hague (ASH) is a private international school in Wassenaar, Netherlands. It serves students aged 3 to 18 (pre-kindergarten through 12th grade). About 1,220 students from 80 countries attend, with roughly 28% American and 15% Dutch.
Founded in 1953, ASH provides an American-style education for children of international workers and government staff. The school is governed by a board of trustees elected by parents and is accredited by NEASC (New England Association of Schools and Colleges).
ASH has three divisions: elementary, middle, and high school. A new campus opened in 1989 near Rijksstraatweg in Wassenaar, opened by Queen Beatrix and Barbara Bush. Instruction is in English; foreign languages taught are French, Spanish, Dutch, and German. There is no religious instruction.
The school has two campuses: the main campus and the Early Childhood Center (ECC). School colors are gold and royal blue, and the mascot is the Trojans. Sports include baseball, basketball, cross-country, swimming, softball, tennis, track and field, and volleyball.
