Alpine skiing at the 1994 Winter Olympics
Alpine skiing at the 1994 Winter Olympics took place north of Lillehammer, Norway, at Kvitfjell for the speed events and Hafjell for the technical events, from February 13 to 21. Ten events were held, with 250 competitors from 45 nations.
Germany led the medals with three golds and one silver, while the host nation Norway won the most medals overall with five (one gold, two silver, two bronze).
Top performers included:
- Markus Wasmeier (Germany): two golds (Super-G and Giant Slalom)
- Vreni Schneider (Switzerland): three medals (one gold, one silver, one bronze)
- Tommy Moe (USA): downhill gold and Super-G silver
- Kjetil André Aamodt (Norway): two silvers and one bronze
- Svetlana Gladishiva (Russia): silver, the first Alpine skiing medal for Russia
- Yevgeniya Sidorova (Soviet Union 1956 bronze in Alpine skiing)
Slovenia won three medals, their first at the Winter Olympics. Forty-six nations competed. Debuts were made by Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Russia, Slovakia, and Ukraine.
