Kristian Álvarez
Kristian Omar Álvarez Nuño (born 20 April 1992) is a Mexican footballer who plays as a centre-back for Alebrijes de Oaxaca. He was born in Zapotlanejo, Jalisco, and is 1.83 meters tall. Álvarez came through Club Guadalajara’s youth system and captained the Chivas U-17 team, making his professional debut on 23 April 2011 in a 1-1 draw with Cruz Azul.
His club career has included spells at several teams: Santos Laguna (loan, 2015–2016), Veracruz (loan, 2017), Universidad de Guadalajara (2018–2019), Loros UdeC (2019), Salamanca UDS (2019–2022), and Atlético La Paz (2023–2024). He joined Alebrijes de Oaxaca in 2025.
Internationally, Álvarez represented Mexico at the U-17 and U-20 levels, captaining the U-17 team. He was part of the Mexico squads that won the 2011 CONCACAF U-20 Championship and the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
