Alicia Girón

Alicia Girón González is a Mexican economist who specializes in feminist economics. She served as president of the International Association for Feminist Economics (IAFFE) from 2014 to 2015 and has directed UNAM's Economic Research Institute (IIEc). Her research focuses on gender, the effects of financial crises, and how IMF austerity programs have impacted women in Mexico and Latin America. She earned her postgraduate degree in Latin American Studies in 1989 from UNAM.
