It sits at the crossroads of Avenue Albertlaan and Chaussée d'Alsemberg, between Forest Park and Saint-Gilles Prison. It is the southern end of the North–South Axis, a tram tunnel that runs through the city center from Albert to Brussels-North station.

Trams 4 and 10 stop here. There is a ground-level connection to tram 51 and to bus routes 48 and 54. When Brussels Metro Line 3 is built, Albert station will be reconfigured and trams 2 and 3 will terminate there. The station is owned by STIB/MIVB.
