Structural fix

Content sourced from Wikipedia, licensed under CC BY-SA 3.0.

A structural fix solves a problem by changing the underlying structures that create or sustain it. It works by altering the social settings or context in which people behave. These fixes are usually long-term and require careful, in-depth analysis of the root causes and how the system operates. An example is changing social norms. Often, structural fixes involve changing incentives to guide behavior.
