Alan Moore (drummer)
Alan "Skip" Moore (born 1 January 1950 in Birmingham, England) is an English drummer best known for his time with Judas Priest. He played on their second album, Sad Wings of Destiny (1976). Before joining Priest, he played in the Birmingham rock and country scene with bands like The Young Casuals, The Other Lot, The Outer Light, Gabriel Oak, Glad Stallion, Tendency Jones and Pendulum. He first joined Judas Priest in 1971 during its early days, staying about a year while Al Atkins sang. He left in 1972 to join Sundance, recording the album Rain, Steam, Speed (1974). In 1975, after drummer John Hinch left, Moore rejoined Judas Priest and became their drummer again—the only member to have two separate periods with the band. His comeback show was in October 1975 at Slough College. The band released Sad Wings of Destiny in 1976, but Moore left soon after. He continued to work with various bands and studios, and in 1981 joined RPM, releasing two singles on Ariola Records. After moving away from London, he played with various scratch bands and session musicians and eventually left music. In 2016 he reappeared as the drummer for the Isle of Wight blues band The Baggywrinkles Blues Band, with Frank Aiello.
