Pavel Romanov (percussionist)
Pavel Romanov (born March 27, 1989, in Vologda, Russia) is a Russian drummer, percussionist, teacher, and songwriter. He studied at Children’s Music School No. 1 in Vologda from 1996 to 2002. He was the drummer for Real Shamrocks, a well-known Vologda rock band that played Irish folk-rock; their singles were picked up by radio stations in Malaysia and Ireland, and they toured internationally. After moving to Saint Petersburg, he worked with the youth theater On the Verge, arranging percussion parts. He also played with the indie rock band Whatevers and the group Anna Karenina. He won two national competitions in 2012: Metro on Stage in Moscow and the XX Anniversary All-Russian Festival Russian Student Spring. He has collaborated with Radio Interference and other projects performing cover versions of popular songs. He has contributed drum parts to songs such as “Vasya” by Bravo, “Rains-Pistols” by Zveri, “Beautiful Old House” by Andrey Knyazev and Helavisa, and “The Chicken” by Jaco Pastorius, among others.
