Ahmed Mohammed Marafa is a Nigerian politician who became the speaker of the 8th Niger State House of Assembly in 2015. He was elected to the Niger State House of Assembly from Chanchaga on the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform. He was nominated for the speakership by Bashir Lokogoma of Wushishi Constituency and seconded by Bako Alfa from Bida North. After taking office, he said he would push laws that would improve people’s lives. In November 2015, he was elected Chairman of the Northern Nigeria Speakers Forum, a group of speakers from 19 state houses of assembly. Before the 2019 elections, some youths jeered him with chants of “one term only.” Four youths who joined the chant were arrested and charged with joint act, inciting disturbance and mischief.
