James Hundon
James Hundon (born April 9, 1971) is a former American football wide receiver who played in the NFL, XFL, AFL, and CFL. He was born in San Francisco and went to Jefferson High School in Daly City. He started his college career at City College of San Francisco in 1992, where he was team MVP, and later played at Portland State University from 1993 to 1995. At Portland State he had 83 receptions for 1,406 yards and was also a kickoff returner.
Undrafted in 1996, Hundon signed with the Cincinnati Bengals. He played for the Bengals from 1996 to 1999, appearing in 48 games with 28 receptions for 416 yards and 4 touchdowns. His best NFL season came in 1997 when he had 16 receptions for 285 yards and two touchdowns.
In 2001 he played for the San Francisco Demons of the XFL, catching 28 passes for 357 yards and contributing on special teams. He then joined the San Jose SaberCats of the Arena Football League, where he enjoyed standout success, including winning ArenaBowl XVI in 2002 and ArenaBowl XVIII in 2004. In 2002 he had 98 receptions for 1,464 yards and 35 touchdowns, earning second-team All-Arena honors. He finished his AFL career with 307 receptions for 4,662 yards and 99 touchdowns.
In 2003 Hundon also spent time in the Canadian Football League, playing four games for the Toronto Argonauts and later nine games for the Calgary Stampeders, where he returned a kickoff for 103 yards and had 17 receptions for 271 yards.
Hundon retired from professional football in 2005. His career includes two ArenaBowl championships and notable achievements in college and the NFL.
