Adelbert M. "Bert" Bryan (born August 21, 1943) is a politician from the U.S. Virgin Islands and a former senator. He has served as Frederiksted's police commander, as a Senator, and on the Board of Education. He is a member of the Independent Citizens Movement. In 1989 he ran for governor and received 35 percent of the vote. He was charged with looting after Hurricane Hugo that year. In 1996 he shot and killed his son Pell; law enforcement described the shooting as self-defense, while rival Alden Alicia Pickering (also known as Alicia Hansen or Chucky) claimed it was murder. In 2001 his other son, Kaunda, was shot and killed in St. Croix.
