Acrocomia hassleri is a palm native to southern Brazil (Mato Grosso do Sul) and Paraguay. It belongs to the Acrocomia genus in the palm family, Arecaceae. The species has had several other scientific names in the past, such as Acanthococos hassleri and Acanthococos sericea.
