Abinomn language
Abinomn, also known as Avinomen or Foia (Baso is an older name), is a language spoken in Papua, Indonesia. It has about 300 native speakers (as of 2002). Abinomn is regarded as a language isolate, meaning it has no proven close relatives. Although it is surrounded by Lakes Plain languages, Abinomn is very different from them and, unlike Lakes Plain languages, it is not tonal. The language was first reported by linguist Mark Donohue. It is spoken in the Mamberamo Hulu District, Mamberamo Raya Regency, Papua. Its closest relatives are unknown, and it is generally treated as a standalone language.
