Danny Barber (soccer)
Danny Barber (born May 17, 1971) is a retired American soccer midfielder from Bellflower, California. He played one Major League Soccer game for the MetroStars in 1996, but most of his career was spent playing indoor soccer in leagues like the CISL, NPSL, and MISL.
Barber went to Pacifica High School in Garden Grove, California. He attended UNLV from 1989 to 1992 and still holds the school's career assists record with 26.
He began his pro career with the Las Vegas Dustdevils of the CISL, helping the team win the CISL championship in 1994, and played there through 1995. In February 1996, he was selected by the MetroStars in the MLS Supplemental Draft and appeared in one league game for them.
After MLS, Barber played in the National Professional Soccer League with the Cincinnati Silverbacks from 1996 to 1998, then with the Buffalo Blizzard from 1998 to 2001. He joined the Baltimore Blast in 2001–2002, and in 2002 played for the Harrisburg Heat and the Dallas Sidekicks. He had a brief return to the Baltimore Blast in 2002. In 2003 he was chosen by the St. Louis Steamers in the MISL Expansion Draft, but he never played for them.
Across his career, Barber appeared in 297 club games and scored 193 goals.
