Aadarsa Kutumbam
Aadarsa Kutumbam (Ideal Family) is a 1969 Indian Telugu drama film directed by K. Pratyagatma. It stars Akkineni Nageswara Rao and Jayalalithaa, with music by S. Rajeswara Rao. The movie was produced by A. V. Subba Rao for Prasad Art Productions and released on 6 June 1969.
The story centers on a large joint family led by Raghavendra Rao and his wife Rajyalakshmi, who have four sons and a daughter. Each son has his own flaws: Pattabhi and his wife Janaki manage the family’s finances and farming; Prakasam is involved in village politics and wastes time and money; Pratap is a bodybuilder who cares more about his diet than his wife Rama; and Prasad studies in the city and falls in love with Saroja, who becomes a doctor. The daughter, Chandra, is married to Suryam, who is blind at night and spends little effort working. Their mother Durgamma often enters the house and stirs trouble.
Misunderstandings and manipulations by Pattabhi and Janaki lead to further problems. Prasad marries Saroja, and the chaos drives the family to split up and live separately. The rest of the film follows how the family members learn to set aside their differences and come back together in harmony.
The film won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu in 1969.
