AROS Public License (APL) is the license used for the AROS Research Operating System project. Version 1.1 is based on Mozilla Public License 1.1, with added definitions and some Netscape text changes. It has not been officially approved as free or open-source by FSF, OSI, or Debian. Because it is based on MPL 1.1, it is generally not GPL-compatible unless the author also offers the program under the GPL or another GPL-compatible license. APL has limited copyleft and allows linking with code under a different license. It was published in 1995.
